The Taste of Tea
The taste of tea stems from the heritage and influences of Zen Buddhism in Japanese Theatre and the Tea Ceremony. The series is an extension to the Tokyo Monogatari series. The deepened survey into Noh-, Kabuki- and Bunraku theater in this series strengthen both projects produced in Japan. The projects may be shown both separate as well as combined.
Expressions and traditions from Japanese theater, Chado (the way or tea) and the devotion for nature, tranquility arising from Zen Buddhism reflect in the work. The project is originates and is created in the historical capital of Japan; Kyoto.
This project is endorsed by CBK Rotterdam – Centre for Visual Arts Rotterdam.
